INFRARED SAUNA BENEFITS

Many doctors are starting to recommend infrared saunas to their patients for many ailments, some of which are inflammation, weight loss, lowering cholesterol, and lowering blood pressure, pain relief, decreasing inflammation, alleviating fibromyalgia symptoms, aid in your immune system, and overall good health.

Because the infrared saunas heat penetrates the body much deeper (up to 1- 3/4 inches compared to the traditional sauna which only penetrates approximately 1/8 of an inch), your body can get a good detoxifying sweat going at about 120 degrees as compared to 180 degrees required from a traditional sauna . 20-30 minutes per day is recommended.

Detoxification: Another amazing advantage of this deep penetrating heat is its ability to detoxify the body. The heat pulls out toxins deep under the skin and exfoliates them through the skin. Toxins like mercury, lead, car emissions, tobacco, mold and hundreds of other pollutants our bodies are bombarded with on a daily basis. By detoxifying the body of these pollutants we are able to stop them from accumulating in our system and in doing so prevent possible disease and premature aging of our skin, body and mind.

Weight Loss: Studies have shown a 30 minute far infrared sauna session can burn 200-600 calories . As the body works to cool itself while using a far infrared sauna, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. Blood flow during whole body hypothermia is reported to rise from a normal 5-7 quarts per minute to as much as 13 quarts per minute. Journal of the American Medical Association, August 1981

Pain Relief: New clinical research on pain offers evidence to establish a novel class of pain “heat responsive pain” or HRP, which encompasses several common pain conditions that can be treated with the use of heat therapy. “Through new clinical research, we have found that heat activates complex neurological, vascular and metabolic mechanisms to mediate the transmission of pain signals and effectively provide relief for a variety of pain conditions.”

Improve blood circulation with: Heating of muscles with far infrared produces an increased blood flow level similar to that seen during exercise. Body temperature elevation also produces an increase in blood flow.

Lowering Blood Pressure: Repeated far infrared sauna treatment improves impaired blood vessel functions in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. This suggests a preventative role for infrared sauna use for arteriosclerosis.
